It's 8:15 an DH has just announced "It's Opening UP!" I'll bet he's glad he took a nap this afternoon. It will be a long night. I just heard the door open up, so he's outside already with his camera.
TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!
Very good news. Have fun enjoying the beautiful bloom.
Thanks. As soon as I can, I will post a couple of pictures. I don't have the internet down here on my computer (cable and internet on summer vacation) but do have my laptop. Since the files are so big, I have to do some reducing of pixels before I can post them and that will take some manipulation but I think I can do it with a little work. I have been out in the yard all morning weeding and will take a rest before trying to do "brain work" as I am tired from waking myself up every couple of hours to check on progress of flowers. DH told me I could stay up with the plants so I woke myself up a couple of times and 3:00 a.m. was the last time.
Good for you. I know even though you had broken sleep, you both are proud of that little show. Wonderful blooms. Can you hear me cheering?.
Ivy
So THAT'S WHAT I HEARD LAST NIGHT!!!!! You cheering! Thanks, Ivy.
Beautiful! How many blooms did you have on that plant? I look forward to the day when mine has more than just one flower at a time! I've got to remember to save the banana peels for the Epi's too!!
And ... next time mine blooms I'm going to try your tip of cutting the flower off and putting it in the frig!
Plantladylin:Thanks. There were two blooms on the plant here in FL. She is the "old lady" and I'm afraid I didn't treat her too well this year. Forgot when we had trees cut that we lost some shade and she is rather sunburned. Duh! My grandma G probably wouldn't be too proud of me in the way I have treated her plant! I will have to find her a better place next year in the shade. There is another bud on it, but it is in the beginning stage, probably about another two to three weeks for that one. The most I have had on one plant was 5. Still hoping for more in the future, though.
