I wonder if the people who started their stickies could remove the first photos? When I come to the trade page, I only see the stickies, and then have to scroll down to see the new posts. It would be nice to see the latest trade offering right away.
Seems sort of petty, I know, but I've noticed most of the other stickies on other forums don't have a photo, at least on the initial post.
I guess I'm getting too old and lazy to scroll! LOL

I dont believe there is a way to remove photos from a post once it has been posted.
I wondered if there was a way to put all the stickies on the bottom of the page. On some forums, there are quite a few stickies.
Thanks, cue-chik, I didn't realize we couldn't remove photos by going into edit. Hmm, I wonder why that is?
I asked over on the DG forum about this, not necessarily about this forum, but all the forums are starting to have a bunch of stickies, and it takes longer to find the new topics.
Kind of a small, petty problem, I guess! Nothing I can't deal with....
I dunno if this will help, but Sticky's are there because DG staff deems them important enough and a benefit to all to give them a permanent home at the top of the Forum.
If you are searching for new posts within a thread you have already seen, then a red 'YES' will be to the left of it in the Forum, indicating there are new posts within that thread. To find the newest post within that thread, simply click 'Skip To New' at the top of the thread, it will immediately take you to the newest posts by skipping previously read posts..
If you are trying to find new threads within the forums, then any subject line highlighted in Blue is a brand new thread you havent read yet.
You can also bypass all of the searching by clicking the 'Watch Thread' link at the top of any thread you are interested in following, this way, it will appear at the top of your DG home page and eliminate thread searching later. Anytime you post in a thread, you are automatically 'watching' that thread and it will appear on your Home page when new posts are made.
I know this isnt exactly a fix to your problem, but it could be helpful by bypassing all the searching and scrolling.
Im not sure which Forums you refer to, but the ones I frequent only have 1 or two sticky's and several posts show directly underneath. Unless you have your text set to very large, you should be able to see any new posts directly under the stickies without having to scroll down the page.
cue_chik, I guess I'm not making myself clear. I know all that. I'm not talking about doing away with stickys. They are helpful. I'm talking about not having photos attached to the first sticky post. I'll try to illustrate:

Look at the page, the stickys (on my screen) are about an inch wide. When I come to the plant trading page, all I can see are the two stickies.

Again, there are two stickies, but since they don't have photos attached to them, when I come to this page I see the 2 stickies and the first 7 topics.
Well, perhaps I'm the only person this bothers, or maybe you all have bigger screens (I'm on a laptop). My world won't end because I have to scroll a bit!

ahhhhh.. gotcha! Yup, I misunderstood. sorry. What WOULD be helpful, is if there wa a link within the sticky to pics and illustrations like that. if its mroe than one single pic, then the link would be better.

Sometimes what I think in my head does not come through the keyboard correctly! lol A link is a good idea.
