I have a River Birch I planted March 08 and envisioned flowering perrenials and some annuals under it. It has developed a thick layer of roots all over the surface of the garden. I read it does not like those roots disturbed.
Is there anything I can plant around this tree that can manage that layer of roots?
Has anyone had any experience with this?
I am hoping for many enthusiastic replies and brilliant suggestions!
