About 1-1/2 years ago, I purchased cuttings of 'Golden Girl' to replace one that died. I took a chance on the seller and lost. Of the 3 cuttings I received this was the only survivor. It's a pretty white Brug, but definitely NOT Golden Girl. I'll have to call her my white NOID. I may or may not keep her, but she does have one thing going for her. She lost some leaves to the grasshoppers, but that was the extent of the damage while others around her were massacred.

It just surprises me how many people are willing to take advantage.....

I have only purchased once and was so silly I never thought of someone ripping me off about a plant.....I was truely lucky because I ended up with a great seller....just by luck.
Course I was lucky enough years ago to get to go to Paris and I never dreamt the candy vendor would rip me off either, but he did.....LOL

Yes, they are still selling and under several names. It's a shame to ruin someone's gardening experience, but it happens.

I do too, but I paid for a named Brug. I really do like the form this noid has, but more than anything, I like the fact that grasshoppers don't seem to like her. She and a few other Brugs were left alone while the others were devoured.
bettydee I'm sorry you got ripped off. There are many fraudulant sellers on Ebay. But there are also many great ones. Please post the name of the seller who sold you the wrong brug. It is allowed here. I'm sure that he/she is still selling. That way you will save someone else from being ripped off. The name will circulate on Daves as a warning to othe brug lovers.
blomma, that person's name has already been mentioned several times and yes, he is still selling. In fact he sells under two names. I bought it from 7servant7. I can't recall what his other name is, but if you look up some of the older threads, his name will be on the them. You can also check e-bay and look for a seller with the same location as 7servant7.
does he have good reviews? I always check if someone had good reviews and if he/she has many reviews. Not just two.
The problem with reviews is that plant buyers don't have the luxury of waiting until the plant blooms to see if what you paid for is what you received. I waited 2 years for this to bloom, but had to leave feedback ages ago. This seller also doctors the photos he uses so the colors are more vibrant and darker than they would normally appear. There have been a lot of complaints here on DG about this seller.

this is truely a sad situation !!! i also sell on ebay and i would immediately send you a new plant . anyone could make a mistake and send out wrong plant , but they should back their plant and replace if necssasary.
i do agree a lot of pics have been doctored and infomation is misleading on ebay . i personally have spent a fortune on epiphyllums , only to find out none of them were even close to being the right plant . even when she put 2 cuttings of the same kind labled together , they bloomed different .lol buyers beware , i guess !!!!
there are a lot of good ebay sellers whom i trust . i'm not sure of the rules here , but will drop a hint or two .

i know there are many brugs growers with good reputations that i have not mentioned , like liz , paul ect ect ect . please do not let one bad experience ruin your brug collecting hobby . alot of great brug people are out there .

edna has a few brug cuttings on ebay . i'm not sure if she is a daves garden member, but she is an active member with BGI, gardenweb, WOB . i think anyone that gets cuttings from this lady will be a happy camper .
