A couple years ago,our butterfly weed was covered in Monarch cats and I decided to take one in to let the grandkids watch it change into a butterfly.But, I don't know who was more excited, as it went thru each stage... me or the kids lol. I think I was 53 at the time, and it was just amazing to witness such a fascinating event! It's true...we are never too old to learn...lol

And it's a male. Note the large dark spot on the dark line hind wing. Females have no spot.
