i never knew what a brug was until i saw a picture in the rose forum of
calif sues back yard last yr.there was a brug hanging in the top of the pic. to not wanting to seem like i didnt know anything about plants i googled trumpet shaped flower and here we are. i just had to see that in person i thought they were so magical looking . every one kept calling the smell intoxicating . im all about having heavy scented plants around. i just had to smell the intoxicating smell every one called lemons and baby powder . how could that possibly smell good lol . it does.

How will you winterize them? I have a sunset in a pot and am wondering if I cut it down and move it indoors will it be alright without much light? I could cut it back and put it in the garage with no light?

newton , my dh was supposed to build an indoor green house in the garage but fall is coming faster than he is planing . i told him if he dosnt get it built they will go in the house. all 13 . i put some in the ground that are 6 ft. lol they will be ok in the garage for a while . the coldest it gets in there is 38 . there is a winterizing brugmansia thread out there for other ways . basically they cant get below 45 and limit light and water . or at 50 they wont go dormant . mine did ok n the house last yr . they were much smaller . i dont know how to fit all these trees in there now remove the couch i guess . if it comes down to it ill put up plastic sheeting and staple it around to make a room . then get a small green house heater .

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

thanks ... i did use the recipie a few times but the past few weeks ive been lazy and just threw some rose food on the top of the pots . i figured they needed something lol . they all had a first small flush but this second is bigger . shredded white didnt really have flushes it was more constant .

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

what recipe are you talking about? I need it!

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/803019/

i used it on everything , it made the tomatoes grow literally a couple inches over night . i dont tell any one that for fear of me sounding like im exaggerating . after i saw that i made some in a garbage can alfalfa tea style with the water added and poured it over everything .lol

(dana)Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

i used kells recipie (scroll down) because i didnt have tea tree or kelp

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

thank you. I think I will try Kell's potion but I guess next spring? too late now, I guess.

how late in the year do people apply for bloom boosting? I'm not interesting in rooting, as it seems all I have to do is sit cuttings in water.

Montgomery, TX(Zone 9a)

I love them, need more colors. This is my only one so far, but I'm looking around. I guess I could put it in the ground without fear huh?
