This butterfly landed on some rotten bananas I had put into my rose garden, planning to dig them into the roses. I can't find the i.d. thanks!

I think mine that visited is a Black Swallow tail here is one that visited my lantana
I thought that was what yours was... till I looked closer.

Thank you so much. The mystery is solved. I have now seen it two days in a row. Will get more fruit outside.
Yup, those guys actually prefer rotting fruit to flowers. They're one of my favorites!
Is there anyone out there from NC who has seen these butterflies? I noted that the two respondents are from FLA. Just curious as I've never seen them here before.
I have them in Georgia,,, they like stinky stuff. rotten fruit, and other things,,,
