Wintering over tropical lily

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

The weather is going down hill fast,I really don't belong up here, any how,I have 3 tropical waterlilies to winter over.Last years effort was a bust, although I did some how manage to keep a Mrs Martin E Randig (I didn't know it made it until it bloomed 3 weeks ago,I thought it was one of my mexicannas)Last year I had a large plastic white top from a construction barrel, put about 6 inches of soil in it,filled it with water and placed the plants in it.It was next to my south facing sliding glass doors. They seemed to do well till febuary. Then they kinda disappered. The mexicanna, duckweed, frogbit and water fern all looked great in the spring but the Panama Pacific,Red Flare and Mrs. Martin E Randig had all gone away. There must have been a small tuber of the Randig left, and it got potted up in the soil I used from the container.Does anyone else winter over thier tropical lilies? How do you do it?

I bring mine into the green house and put them into a 20 gallon container. The night time temp in the green house is 50. I thought about trying a kiddie pool if it doesn't take up too much room since it is more shallow.
