With fall here, it reminds me that some of my plants will die when winter arrives. I was wondering if someone in a warmer climate or who has a greenhouse might like to have a box filled with the following tropicals:
Bromeliad - Painted Fingernails
Ornamental Potato Vines:
Black Heart (cuttings - will probably root in transit)
Tricolor (green, white and pink variegated - well-rooted)
Sidekick (black leaves with points on them - well-rooted)
Sweetheart (red-purple heart-shaped leaves - well-rooted)
Coleus - 2 different kinds - cuttings (will probably root in transit)
Passiflora Incarnata - Passion Flower Vine (actually hardy in z 7)
I'd like to trade all this as one trade. You'll get several cuttings of each plant that isn't rooted and one plant from each rooted plant.
I'm looking for unusual perennials, trees and shrubs, like rice paper tree, beauty berry bush, purple chaste tree, dinnerplate hibiscus, gingko tree, double peonies, named daylilies, anything with a love/romance theme, unusual sedums, ornamental grasses, unusual foliage, huge blooms, anything that would stand out in my gardens. No tropicals or houseplants please.
Anyone interested? Below is a picture of one coleus.

CLOSED: Tropicals Anyone? Potato Vines, Coleus, Bromeliad
I found one more ornamental sweet potato vine I recently planted. It has red/maroon heart-shaped leaves. I think it's called Sweetheart but I lost the tag. I'll add it to this box. I can take a picture and post here if anyone is interested.
It doesn't look like there's much trading going on here anymore. Is it too late in the season, or do I just not have anything anyone wants?
Never mind- I just read it again and (all I wanted was the bromalaid,) I have most of the others, and see you want it as one trade.

Hi Mekos, I prefer doing large trades. Often if it's just one plant, I can buy it cheaper than I can trade. So if I'm going to trade, I want a full box of plants.
It's really a shame to let Old Man Winter have these unusual potato vines. If I had a greenhouse, I'd save them and root cuttings for next year. If no one comes along to trade for them, I might just put them in hanging baskets and hang them in my dining room for winter.
That is what I did with mine- not in the dining room, just in a hanging pot. The one that is black with heart shaped leaves and have one black with finger looking leaves. They go good in hanging pots. I'm going to hang mine in the greenhouse this winter and try to keep them. I understand about the one trade. When I first read it, I didn't notice that, but went back and reread and did. Good luck finding something good to trade for. Those are all nice plants.
I think the two that you have, Mekos, are probably Black Heart and Blackie. I love Blackie too but I guess the nursery didn't have it when I was in the buying mood. I grow it almost every year.
I've found that the Tricolor doesn't spread as agressively as the others. It's great for a small bed because it doesn't overwhelm it. Blackie and Black Heart are so agressive that I'm constantly trimming them and sharing cuttings all summer long. I really like the new Sweetheart with the redder foliage. It's such a contrast to the green in my gardens.
If I'm not careful, I'm going to talk myself into keeping the potato vines thru winter...
This offer is now closed. I'm working on a trade with a wonderful trader.
