CLOSED: CLOSED: Royal Poinciana For Trade

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

Have 2 of these for trade. Started from seeds this year.

Open to offers as I haven't figured out what I want to post on my want list yet. I like gladious, lilys, sweet williams, all colors of creeping phlox and anything for butterflies as I'm working on a butterfly bed right now. Bulbs, plants or seeds will be fine with me. Thanks for looking

Oh I wish I had one of those. They aren't hardy hee in my zone. Have seen pics of them and they are glorious with the blue purple blooms. I understand the get really big too.

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

you could always keep it in a large pot on a patio, Flower

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

I thing flower is referring to the jacaranda with the blue/purple flower. Royal Poinciana has orange blooms.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

ok I thought they were one and the same. I didn't know there was one with orange flowers. And yes I was talking about the one with the purplish blue flowers. So since I have learned something new what are the zonals on these?

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

Flower - Royal Poinciana is only hardy to zone 10a. even in my zone, it would have to be kept in a pot and brought in during the cooler months.

Yeah kind of what I thought :((((((((

You might want to rethink the zonal...I am in 9a/b depending upon the weather and siting...I have 3 of them in the garden and have had them for about 15 years...they are even evergreen most of the year, but never bloom until it gets blazing hot...we had lots of blooms this year...whew! too hot for words!

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

yeah, but here in my zone 9a, we get quite a few freezes... even tho you may be in zone 9a, you are in quite a different climate than here. there are things you can grow in TX and AZ that we cant.. and vica versa...lol. but, I'll give it a try.. and see what happens.

I hope it works for you...the plant is beautiful when it blooms!...
