I think this one will be pretty when its full grown. The mama is very protective I have to watch my hands even to give them fresh water and food.

I really want to get a white silkie rooster and put the cochin in with my bigger hens next year I would like pure silkies.I have a question,if the rooster was the offspring of the hen and they breed will the chicks have any thing wrong with them like health issues or deformaties?

Its so cute how she shows them how to scratch, two of them were chest butting today.

Mom took her babies outside for the first time today it was so cute watching them,I made a small pen inside the big pen so the daddy and the other hen could not bother the chicks, they just looked at them and then went on with what they were doing,I think I can put them all in togather soon. She is such a good mother, going to a chicken swap Sat. maybe I will find a white silkie rooster. Its supose to rain, the last one I went to it rained so there was hardly any birds there.
