LOL Gail, sounds almost identical to the Fall weather we are having here with temp's hovering around 91º and humidity to match! Sometimes I think I want to move waaaay north for the summer! They call all the Canadiens who live in Florida in the winter "Snowbirds" ... maybe I should live in Canada during the summer and become a "Sunbird"!!

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Sounds almost like fall in southern alabama too.LOL.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I almost passed out in the heat just going outside to unload the car ...................it was full of junk!!!!

Atco, NJ

Gail, we are on our boat for the weekend and it was only 54 this morning. But the sun came out and we had a beautiful day. I believe it went to about 70. I'd be very happy if it was like this year round.

How heavenly........the day you are describing is our winter season !

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

we have had the most unusual summer ever here in illinois, i think we might have had a couple days of 90's, but most were low 80's & now low 70's. really so comfortable, but feels like we did'ent have summer. lol

Gail,

Our weather here is Orlando is about like yours. We went to the flea market today and were nice and sweating by the time we left. Can't wait till it cools off!

Very pretty Hyacinth Beans!

When I lived in HOuston, I grew Hyacinth Bean Vines from seed. They are so easy and so prolific! Nice blooms, Lin!

Charlottesville, VA(Zone 7b)

I moved from Florida..(I had 25 years of heat, humidity and hurricanes) to Virginia...I must say the past few weeks have been 'ideal'.............low humidity, 72-82 temperatures..............a day of a good rain...........and then back to the above....sun out, bright skies, leaves a slight tinge of fall.....very slight...............wow...I could take this forever!

Indiana's weather has been super great. Two days above ninety and mostly 60's to low eightys. Now it is low fiftys to low 70's. People say we didn't have summer either, but what ever it has been, I love it. Hope we have a long fall without an early frost. Lou

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

We are getting 2-8 inches of rain starting tomorrow and when the cold front comes through, we are going to get down to 67 degrees!!!!!

MSU, MS(Zone 8a)

Gail,

67 degrees! No fair! Pass some of that down here.

Now , fall is really here! Have had all the windows open all day! Here is the thermometer I put on my back porch........so actually it is cooler than this where the thermometer would not be protected by the back porch walls.

Hip hip hooray!!!

I'm happy for you Texans. You certainly deserve some great weather after the summer you have endured. Hope you get a chance to get outside and enjoy it. Lou

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I actually had to turn the air conditioning off a few minutes ago...........and close the windows......getting cooler by the minute........

It won't last but a day or two but I am not complaining one bit! Praying for rain tonight.....just might get some.

Thanks, Lou!!

Charlottesville, VA(Zone 7b)

what's the best way to get some humidity in the room where I have my african violets?

If I run my humidifer, how long should I run it?

I don't open my windows...am afraid cat will put a screen out

Thanks, bbon

I'm loving it - 64 degrees here. We've had the windows open for several days. After our 10 inches of rain last week, it's been pretty nice.

(Zone 1)

It was 91º here about an hour ago, haven't checked since then. About 1:00 a.m. I looked and it was still 77 outside, and humid. I really could handle the heat if we didn't have this awful humidity.

The Oct/Nov issue of Country Magazine came in the mail today and I sat out by the pool oohing and aahing at all the beautiful fall pictures ... wishing I could take a vacation up north somewhere where it's cooler!

Gail, hope you all do get some rain. It's been dry here again too but we did have a shower a few days ago, we could use a really good long rain to soak in, rain that lasts awhile so the moisture doesn't evaporate quickly from the heat. I've been trying to get in touch with my youngest sister in North Ga. They had floods up that way. I'm sure she is okay though or I would have heard something ... she is just a busy gal with church stuff, tennis and golf as well.
