Even as I type, I have people outside putting in a drip irrigation system for me. Our ENTIRE yard is being covered....well, almost. Not going into the woods, but all the garden beds, ex one, will be covered, on zones, and timers!!! Also room for expansion and stubs for future water features, etc. This is awesome. I have never lived anywhere that had irrigation my entire life.
Dream Come True
Oh, wow... that's so cool! :D
Gwen, HOORAY!!!!!!! You will be in absolute heaven not having to drag hoses! I am just thrilled for you!
Lucky, lucky, you. That's wonderful. Congratulations.
Yippee! You will love it. Every Wednesday and Saturday morning when mine comes on at six-o-clock I smile and go back to sleep.
Plus, starting in Jan 2010, new law in Wash, all HOA on septic have to bill for metered water! Yikes. This will save us a lot of money I think.
Think how much time you will save as well!! I spent half my life this Summer running around with hoses and watering cans and I still didn't keep up. Most of my veggie garden is on drip lines (not on a timer, but it is still really easy to flip a switch on and off), but all the rest has to be watered by hand.
I know! I spend so much time watering, and barely being able to keep things live even then since they aren't really getting enough, and no time for planting and weeding. The weeds have overrun the place and it looks like a nursery there are so many pots around! On the downside, now I have no excuse...
You will so enjoy the comfort of knowing that each plant is guarenteed to get its water needs met. The only thing I run into is the moving and adding plants to my irrigated areas. I keep digging into the lines. All of my garden is irrigated and with that known my DW still spends at least 3 hours watering just to give her a peace and time in her garden. Though that is optional and when we leave all is well. Good move Gwen!
