I've been meaning to ask as well. They were fabulous!

Maybe if we all say Please, please, pretty please with, um, compost tea and hot pepper seeds on it? ;) ;)

Here you go. I recommend using a higher quality cocoa than Hershey's. Scharfenberger is quite good.
There are others but I don't know what's available locally.

Preheat oven to 325°
Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan

3 eggs
2 Cups sugar
1 Tablespoon vanilla
8 oz cream cheese - softened
1 cup butter - softened
1/2 Cup unsweetened cocoa or 8 oz. baking chocolate
1 1/2 Cups unbleached Flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 Cup chopped pecans or Macadamia nuts
6 - 8 oz. shredded coconut

Combine Flour, baking powder & salt - set aside

Cream sugar, cream cheese, butter
Add eggs, vanilla & chocolate
combine this with the flour mixture
Stir in nuts & coconut

Spread in prepared pan, bake for 45 - 60 minutes.
Baking time will depend on your oven.

This is a great "base" recipe. I play with it each time i make them. Very good with toffee chunks, chocolate chips, 1/2 peanut butter & 1/2 cream cheese, Ginger (lots) with Black Pepper (makes it spicy), Mexican Chocolate & 3 tsp Cinnamon, blah, blah, blah... Enjoy!

brownies always fall into the "need" category. A necessary nutrient, to be sure...
