I received Bulbs that I was in no way ready for. So I put them in the fridge. Is this ok? Then I will plant them when I'm ready or should I take them out? Ohhhh geezzz. I won't be ready for a week or so to either pot them up or plant them. None are tropical that I know of.
Is it Ok?
You have to be more specific as to what kind of bulbs they are.
Peonies, Lilies, Corydalis, Tulips
I would leave them in the fridge until the first of Nov and then plant....weather will be cooled off by then.
You might want to check them once in awhile for mold, but, they should have been prepped for fridge storage since they were sent out so early.
Who did you get them from?
Lithuania....Very very Nicely packaged
The Country...LOL
Dale, does Kim need to keep them away from ripening fruit and the ethane (sp) gas it produces?
Donna
What fruit? Like in my fridge? I have some apples and grapes in there. I did box them up and they are in individual paper bags in a box. It's gets cold here..so maybe I can put them in the garage until I plant?
Specifically, apples (I just looked it up). Apples produce ethane gas, which can diminish the flowering properties of your bulbs. I actually put my dug up bulbs in the garage. I would get them away from the apples.
