Crocus blooming first year?

Valdese, NC(Zone 7a)

I was told by someone that crocus' planted in fall wont bloom that first early winter/spring. I couldnt find any info on the internet. So do crocus' bloom the first year after planting them?

Thanks,

Yes, regular Crocus and snow Crocus will flower the first late Winter and early Spring

They've always bloomed for me the first year- I've planted lots, LOL.

Maybe they were talking about Fall blooming crocus? I have planted the Saffron ones and they only send up foliage the first fall, then bloom the next. All other spring blooming crocus have always bloomed the spring immediately after planting in fall.
