Xylitol, great for humans, toxic to animals

On a couple of the forums we have been talking about xylitol as a healthy natural substitute for sugar. It has many healthful properties for humans, but unbeknown to most of us, it is extremely toxic to dogs and apparently other animals. See my post on the Pet forum if you have purchased this product or if you chew gum.
