My cottage garden.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

I have been keeping a blog of sorts that shows the progress, of my front yard in making it look like my cottage garden It has came a long way and I am still on the look out for some inexpensive fencing to put around the front yard. I have had so much fun and found so many wonderful little treasures in all my digging and shoveling lava rock. This is what I found on my final shovel full of lava rock. It is a 16 year coin for an AA recipient. So sad that they lost it but so wonderful that I found it. The slogans are fitting for everyone and I am going to find a very special way to place it in the garden. Please visit my blog to see everything as it happend.

WOW I was so impressed by your patience and the beauty of your creations.
What it looks like you have is an old curling stone. I noted what looks
like a knob on top & immediately was reminded of this game.

well, I know what those are but its not big enough for that. It is about as big as my open hand wide and about 3 inches thick. Good guess though if it were bigger.

Love your house, gardens, and artwork! I noticed the strings of fabric, stuffed birds on both sides of the door (through the window)- I have one just like those!

How funny that you spotted those. They are suppose to be good luck and I have one by my back door too that I made. The two that you saw are ones that I bought but I decided I could make them and I did. Made some out of velvet for my MIL for Christmas and decorated them with gold threads and beads. I have to admit though that they weren't as easy as I thought they would be to make and decided that it was easier and not too expensive to buy them. They just weren't as personal. I plan on making some for Christmas gifts this year. I am going to make them from red felt and decorate them accordingly.
