Tropical Gladiola info please

Houston, PA(Zone 6a)

Is anyone here familiar with the South American or African Gladiolas? I see several varieties on ebay as seeds, and was wondering if they start ok from seeds. I really want them but I've lost alot of money buying seeds of stuff I wanted just to find out that they don't really grow well from seed. I haven't seen bulbs of most of them anywhere. I am a patient person so I don't mind waiting a few years for flowers.
I'm not getting any response on the glad forum, not much action over there.
Thanks!

roxxanne, they will take forever to germinate but if you have the time and the patience, it's worth the time. You have dmail.

Thanks so much for the info. The seeds are pretty cheap .99 for 3 to 5 seeds. But I want them all so it's gonna run me a bit. I am a very patient gardner, I always wait a couple years for blooms because I have to bring everything in in the fall. I think I'm gonna give it a try. Thanks also for the lead on the vendor, I'll be getting some unusual stuff from them too.
