WANTED: Clerodendrum paniculatum aka pagoda-flower

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Does anyone have this plant to trade?

Gainesville, FL

I have this, but have no extra. I had one plant, in 3 years it has only made one offset plant. Not at all like the paniculatum which has made literally 100's. I have never tried to root cuttings either.

Gina, that's the one I want - the red-blooming one with the big leaves.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

You've probably already checked this out, but just in case you didn't, there are some members listing it available for trade, and if they don't have it anymore there are two vendors listed carrying it if you want it badly enough to buy it. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2400/

Thanks, yes - I have dmailed members who have it listed.

Here is a picture of what I am looking for:

That one is C. paniculatum which is not the same as C. buchananii/C. speciosissimum that you first mentioned. I don't have either one so can't help you in either case but for others who may be looking at this are you OK with either one or do you want one in particular vs the other?

I definitely can share the C. paniculatum. It is an entirely different plant from the one you put in the header (speciosissimum). Paniculatum gets 7-9 ft tall in a very short time period, but freezes to the ground every winter. The flowers are much showier and larger

Speciosissimum only gets 2-4 ft and the flowers are much more sparse.

Thanks, friends, for clearing that up for me. I saw the plant a couple of days ago at a local nursery - that was what the nursery owner said it was. The plants were not for sale - already sold. Education is a GOOD thing!

To Gina: you already grow everything I grow, I think.
