Is a Master Gardener program/classes worth taking?

Fowlerville, MI(Zone 5b)

My county offers a Master Gardener program in conjunction with Michigan State University. Is a Master Gardener program worth taking/doing? ....Please let me know your thoughts. It costs a few hundred dollars.

I learned a great deal from our program (took classes 2 years ago). I really enjoy being able to share my knowledge with others, and putting my skills to practice. Even if you are not a novice gardener, I'm sure there is still more you will learn. Check out the Master Gardener's forum for more information. This year, I was able to help renovate our herb demonstration beds--it was a great success, as we were able to acquainte people with uses of herbs (besides just culinary uses), provided educational information, and had absolutely beautiful beds. One of the maintenance workers even commented on how much he enjoyed mowing by our herbs. Go for it--I'm sure you will enjoy it.
