Get it - Fall colors and the gourds are falling on top of each other lol! Clever right???
Theme - Fall Upon Us
What a work of art Terri and what a wonderful idea. Is that near your mum's home? Isn't that something that others would add to your creation, what a warm feeling that brings to one.
I love walking in the woods. Steve and I did that last weekend a bit and I gathered some moss and pinecombs as well.
Nice to see you smiling and creating!
I need to get my table dressed for Thanksgiving. Thinking about doing organics this year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm going to use one of my tablecoths I bought at re-sell shop w/ my odds and ends candles and holders, wind some live ivy thur the bases, dried hydranges, grasses, pinecones twigs and whatever else strikes my fancy. I need color though...some mini pumpkins and I have some little roosters and chickens somewhere in my crafting supplies.
Sounds great Peggy (?) right?, how bout when you get it done bring it on over to the centerpiece arrangement thread. I made mine from dried stuff and an avacado and pinecombs with candles.
As for color, I bought some radishes as well, but didn't use them in the centerpiece just the homegrown gourds.

You could have done a horn of plenty w/ those radishes and other goodies.
Hope to get my centerpiece done today.
Now that is a thought. You know many years ago my sister used to make horn of plenty out of homemade bread. She would make the bread and shape it and then scoop out the inside and then varnish the bread and use them as a centerpiece. I will have to remember to ask her sometime how exactly she did that? I used to have one, but it has long gone by the wayside.
sounds like work....I avoid that at all cost

Actually found easy step by step online and not as difficult as one might think.

My sister must have just varnished hers when completed so they would last a long time.
Here's one with a photo:

I remember one time Soutern Living magazine had on the front page,a woven lattic work type basket made of bread.I wonder if I still have that magazine. I thought at one time I might try making one. It was very pretty but looked like an awful lot of work.
Sounds interesting to have it done in lattice work, but I sometimes make lattice work pie crust and it is not an effortless task.
