Jasmine, help

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I've been trying to root Confederate and Maid of Orleans jasmine without any success. Does anyone know how to get these to root? I've tried tip cuttings. Do I need older growth or maybe layering?

I can identify with taking a hammer to it!! Oh, that's not what you meant?? I will try layering and also the hammer method. (No, I won't hammer the whole plant, it's in a good clay pot)

I LIKE the hammer suggestion! Have you tried it on other plants, and if so, which ones? Maybe that's what I ned to do with my buddleia cuttings.

Thanks, I will try that too. All the first ones rotted so I took more. These are about 10 inches long and I used GA on them to see if it helps.

Cala, I have rooted several Confederate Jasmines by simply burying part of the stem in dirt and placing a rock on it. if it's in a pot as you say, take a low branch and bury it, you can bend a wire like a hairpin to hold it down in the dirt. I really think it is the wrong season to be rooting this way, they sort of go dorment. It may take 2-3 months to root.
