Did I get lucky or what?

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I was on Craigslist in the garden section and found an ad for free pallets and nursery pots.I called them and took off with my handy little trailer.I came home with over 300 3 - 5 gal pots on a pallet that THEY loaded for me! Thats service. Is a local nursery that had about 3000 or more nursery pots sitting around and needed farmed out. I was OUT of my pots for the hibiscus. Many needed potted and with all of these that end up in the landfill I won't pay $3.00 each for clean new ones.I need too many for that. So patience does pay off, and a daily look online too! LOL

Great find Kyle! Another source might be your local Home Depot (sorry Olja, probably won't find one near you). I have gotten lots of 5 gallon pots from them that were destined for a landfill. Also my local Freecycle group has them regularly.

hm..lets try my english here:

My frend from Croatia have deal with local landdesigners, who work for state and put flowers in main streets, roundabout and square, and they give him all pots after poting plants,is this Home Depot?
I will try to make some deal like him here in my local.

Emerald Hills, CA(Zone 9b)

No, Home Depot is a home improvement chain of stores here in the U.S. I don't think they are an international company...Here is a link to their website so you can see what I'm talking about: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/HomePageView?storeId=10051&catalogId=10053&langId=-1

It sounds like if you can get your friend in Croatia to get you some pots, you can pot up those plants in the plastic bottles when they outgrow them :-)

Olja, go for it, you have nothing to loss and lot to gain if they accept a deal with you, never hurts to try.

Just rub it in, just rub it in Kyle, LOL! Well have to say I would be doing the same if I'd found sum freebies myself. All I've gotten for free are some busted old wood pallets to but my pots on to keep them off the soil. To bad I can't go over there and take one or two pallet for my self, imagine me trying to get them on a plane, probably send me to a nut house. LOL!

Emerald Hills, CA(Zone 9b)

Wilfred, I have 5 or 6 pallets you can have :-)

Carolina, PR(Zone 11)

Yea Olja, that's funny, imagen plane stewed calling me a nut just because I'm trying to get trow the plane door holding my two pallets, can you believe it, me a nut, they must be crazy.

Very funny,... very funny Dee, make fun of my busted pallets, well 5 or 6 pallets, mmm, I wonder, how can I get them here, oh! I know maybe I can tie them together and make a raft and row on them through the Panama Canal singing row row row your raft gently down the, mmmm... no stream, oh well canal. With my luck, they miet try a sink me by throwing rocks at me and every body screaming, sink the nut, sink the nut or some shark would see me and think, boy, they get dumber by the day, lunch time.

I never thought about it but do they get sharks in the Panama Canal?

Wilfred, I thought you worked for the USPS, you can think of something... :-)

Portland, TX(Zone 9a)

If your going to row them down the Panama Canal on a raft, you might as well make it a big raft and take a few of those love hibbies that Kyle posts pictures of also. LOL

We'll come visit you in the looney bin too Wilfred . . .hahahahahaha
