They both look like McColley hybrids; the first one is almost the same as one I got from the McColley Nursery in the late 70s. They may or may not be some of the named varieties, as a lot of unnamed seedlings were also released around the same time as the named ones were. I worked at McColley's nursery (Bamboo Nursery) outside of Orlando for some months when Mrs. McColley was running it and obtained a few of those unnamed plants myself. I have one that looks almost the same as your first plant, except that mine is redder and darker than yours.

Thank you, Lari Ann. Mine does get darker with less light. That picture was taken last year in the greenhouse. I have it sitting under a dogwood tree now and it has more red to it. I just love it. Any suggestions on propagation? Thanks

My best suggestion is to see if any of the growing stems have roots dangling from them. If so, let those roots get into a pot of fresh soil and let them grow enough so you can later cut the stem below where the roots have entered the pot. Once you've done that, you now have a rooted cutting that is ready to rock and roll.

I have a similar one to the first that I bought as a hybrid - "Henderson's Pride". All I know about it is that the pollen parent was said to be P tortum. It's supposed to be a large climber but slow grower, mine is still quite small.

One I have that's similar to the second photo (including the mineral accretions on the leaves, LOL) never had an ID.

The first is the result of hybridization done in Australia, the other is a big question mark.
