Today I thought I would share with you how smart my chicken is, before my computer finallly succumes to an inglorious death. We have these narly little squirrels who are always in our walnut tree, and many of the walnuts get dropped to the ground. Well I walk around with my little basket and try to pick them up, but I can't always find them. Anytime I am doing anything, my chickens come running over with "Well what are we doing now?" They just have to be a part of everything. So I showed Alice a walnut, and asked her to help me find more. She was just like a pig looking for a truffle. She found the walnuts that I couldn't find, and even dug up some that were buried in some dry grass. I couldn't believe it. I could have spent a year trying to train a dog to do that, but I only had to show her and ask her one time.
My brilliant chicken !!!
Watch out Ellie: Being outsmarted by a chick is not fun, and can be devastating to one's ego. LOL Way to go. Hay
That is amazing! You have one smart chick! - Carol
I spent 17 years being outsmarted by my cat, so I'm no stranger to humility. My girls are quite bratty, willful, have terrible table manners, and even worse toliet manners, but they are so smart, sweet, affectionate and just totally funny.
