Frost and pole beans questions...

I'm growing half my pole beans for seeds. I need to protect them from frost until they finally turn brown and dry up.....right?? I'm not sure if frost plays a roll in getting the beans to dry up and mature for seed.
Any idea when they'll finally dry up??

You ought to be able to save seeds once the pods turn yellow...even if not brown yet.
