The plant is 2 years old, growing quite well but hasn't bloomed since I planted it. Located in full sun and adequate water. Has anyone else experienced this?
Cape Honeysuckle won't bloom
i'm in south west orlando, my cape honeysuckle seems to bloom during the "winter "months- Nov- March. I haven't had a single flower since march on mine.
Raccoon:
According to Plantfiles, it should bloom soon. I haven't seen any buds on mine yet but I expect them soon. I recall mine took several seasons to bloom. Perhaps it needs to reach a minimum size? Funny thing, I have 2 plants, one bloomed in fall and the other in spring! http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1758/

Thanks for the input. On a side note I have 10 firebush that died back to the ground last winter during a freeze but took off this spring. All have grown 3 to 4 foot. The hummers love them and I have watched monarchs, yellow sulphers, zebra's and julia's all at the blossoms. A great plant.
My cape honeysuckle blooms year round continuously. It is pretty old though, maybe 10 years. It is in full sun and only gets water when it rains.
There was just an article in the Jax paper re: not blooming. It reports, don't prune now (too late 4 me), it will bloom in the next month or so.

From the posts I've read I am giving it too much TLC. No more. I am going to ignore it, no water unless it rains and no pruning. Maybe then it will bloom.
I walked around the garden this morning.....hunting cats and found a bloom on mine. :) i'll take a picture when not raining.
