Look at what's blowing around in my yard in AUGUST!

Fowlerville, MI(Zone 5b)

I was working near my vegetable garden and look was was blowing around me!! ......Poo. It's still AUGUST for pitty sakes!! We've had high temps in the low 60's, and 50's/40's at night for a few days now. I have a heavy sweatshirt and jean on, and I'm still freezing! This is what it's like in Michigan. This year we barely got any kind of a summer at all. ....I'm bitter about it too. Grrr.... >:-[ I want to move to Dixie. :(

Well come on down and bring me a truckload of those lovely cherries that won't grow here. I never get any of those pretty colored leaves either. I planted green beans today and didn't take long to start sweating profusely. I should have at least 75 days before the first killer frost. Nothing has been normal here this year so I still have time to get disappointed.

LOL Twiggy, I would trade you if I could. We'll SEE SNOW sometime in October! Up north here, we have gone snowmobiling over Thanksgiving weekend before!! Then from November until the middle of February we [might] have 5 days of sunshine. Ughhh.... I live in the wrong state.

If you like cherries, here's a great cherry store that's located right on Front Street in downtown Traverse City, Michigan. I shop there often. You might find something you like! :) Enjoy! http://www.thecherrystop.com/

I wondered about that. Tonight and tomorrow night it's supposed to get down to 41 here...down state. :-[

40 forecast here in Aurora, IL

I wonder what the record is.

That is just so unfair. This year has offered weird weather for most of us and I sure hope it's an aberration that doesn't repeat.

I might as well just pull up my watermelon vines.

They're not calling for frost tonight, but I covered everything I could anyways. Because I'm a first-time gardener, I don't know how low of temps my plants can take, so I'm not taking any chances.
