those are Jerusalem artichoke. you can eat the tubers, or let them blossom. watch out though, pretty, but they spread like wild fire!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now you tell me!!...lol....so, when do I know to eat them??? I have ants all over them but they dont seem to be causing any damage. They are about 6 ft tall now.
eat the tubers any time. the smaller they are the more tender. treat them as you would artichike abnd eat raw..........or lightly saute',,,,,,,,,,,,,lots of recipes if you "google" it!
Birdie, Now they are 8ft tall...lol...and looks like flowers may be trying to form...
the yellow flowers they get look like little sunflowers. very cute ^_^
