Help! Hummingbird in garage

Cumming, GA(Zone 7b)

I have a hummingbird in my garage, and I'm not sure how to get it out of there. It is resting on wires near the top of the garage over the open door, and flies back and forth between the wires and a very high shelf I have in there. I put a feeder down low near the middle of the garage, but it doesn't go near it. Didn't want to use a broom for fear of hurting it, but I'm afraid it might starve soon. This is day 2.

Any suggestions on how to liberate it?

Try placing your feeder in the open doorway. This has worked for me.

I've found that if you leave the doors open, they'll leave sooner or later. I've had a wren in our warehouse for the last week and I shut him up at night. I figure if he wants out bad enough he'll leave..........

I had one in the garage the other day and I finally took my broom... handle side down and it landed on it and I was able to slowly lower the broom and get hold of the little guy. I then put his bill in a Hummingbird feeder and let him drink for awhile to get his strength back. After awhile I slowly walked outside and he flew off but immediately flew back into the garage. I did the whole routine again only this time I got farther away from the door and soffit. I hope this helps...good luck and let us know how it works out.
