I Need Validation for My Hard Work (LOL)

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I started Saturday morning to repot every single strep I have into new soil and bigger pots. Today is Tuesday and, although I didn't get finished, these are my completed repotting and also some I still need to pot up. That won't happen soon because my friend is coming in tomorrow to help me organize my office papers and help me get income tax 'stuff' together. She knows how much I hate it and can't do it........but there is some sense of relief that at least I have a good friend (graduated with honors from UT business school 40 years ago) who is willing to help me. REally, I am in a mess because my beloved CPA of 26 years passed away 2 weeks ago unexpectedly.

Therefore, I will be grateful for her help before the IRS comes after me!! (smiling) I couldn't possibly do this by myself and mine is simple compared to other people.........

Tah Dah..........first stand completed!

And............last but not least........is the tray sitting in the kitchen now waiting for me in the morning before my friend , Betty, makes me go to work doing something I despise......book work............

Thanks for indulging me!! Hard but very rewarding work........what would I do without my plants?

Hope my other plants (other gessies) will wait for me until I get back to them in a few days............

WOW, lots of work!! Looks great!

The grooming is the most time consuming part of repotting or potting up anything.
Streps have those ugly nubby sticks after blooming that are so hard to cut down to the soil line........thanks, Sally........

Great job! They are all so beautiful!

Everything looks great Gail, good job. I wish I had a friend like you who lived close by, I would love to come over and help. I never consider plant work to be a chore. Have a lot of babies of my own that need to be separated and potted up soon, but no where near the amount of work you have!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Thank you ladies for your hip hip hoorays! I never catch up but like you, I don't consider playing with my plants to be a chore! It certainly beats cleaning house or doing laundry. (but it is hard work for me)

Charlottesville, VA(Zone 7b)

wow..when I grow up I want to be like you! My congratulations on your beautiful set-ups.....bbon ...

Oh my goodness ... Gail, What an inspiration you are! Where in the world do you get all that energy? I want to know what brand of vitamins you take girl.

I would be soooo overwhelmed with so many stands full of plants, and all of that work staring me in the face! LOL, (that's probably they wouldn't stay alive if they were in my house.) ~ * grin * ~

Great job as always!

Ok ... I'm heading out to run a couple of errands, it's the third day of school and my husband has forgotten papers (again) that he needs for one of his classes this afternoon. Yesterday I had to take a stack of paperwork he'd forgotten that he needed for a meeting. It's good that the University is only a mile up the road from where we live! I told him I'm going to start calling him the absentminded professor!

Good job, Gail!

I've just cleaned off part of my kitchen cupboards . . . I am going to try repotting my strep babies in the kitchen today, see if I can make the same sort of progress!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

You have to have an element of compulsive-obsessive disorder to do what I do with my plants!! Maybe you are just a 'normal' person in life (smiling)

Bonnie, I agree that it is hard work!!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Nice job!! I am lucky to repot 10-15 in one day.......and then clean up my mess LOL.

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

Oh, I like this kitchen counter workplace! I was able to pot up about 40 baby streps while DD was watching her Barbie movie!!! And the cleanup was easy.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Nichole, the kitchen is the ONLY place to work! My family keeps asking me if I want electricity and a sink in the storage building...........whatever are they thinking!! I just potted up 5 leaf cups of avs in a few minutes and the kitchen was clean in 5 minutes!
