Had a busy day in the garden, thought I would share....

We've been working on our fencing for months. Phase 2 has just been completed! This is a starting photo of phase 1.

Phew, finished mowing and can rest. Until phase 3! DH says I can plant whatever trees and beds I want down this lane. Oh boy!

Moved on to some weeding and was joined by a couple of friends.

I'm not a big butterfly person, but I'm sure this is a fairly common one. If any of you knows the official name please let me know.

And this is reason I haven't had many really good rose shots lately. The guilty party in action.

I gathered quite few of those guilty fiends in a mason jar and the chickens got a grasshopper and blue berry treat!

Oh, and can someone tell me what kind of wasps these are?

Sharifa Asma is withstanding the heat and storms fairly well this month.

And, finally, I must get inside and feed the four legged and two legged species before they eat each other (just kidding). By the way, we did not put that fence in in one day. Just the strapping. And most of the mowing. Hope you guys' weekend was just as good as ours!

Very Nice Terri, I believe the butterfly is a female Black Swallowtail, great job on the fence and the dogs are adorable,

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks for the butterfly into. Black Swallowtail....I'll try and remember =).

NE Medina Co., TX(Zone 8a)

I was thinking it could be a dark female Tiger Swallowtail. On that last pic, you can kind of see some of the stripes through the upper wings.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

I would just say: that is a type of swallowtail....vague, but to the point.

You know Linda, you may be right, I hadn't attention to that detail, I thought they were shadows.

Thanks for sharing. That is quite a project. I bet you are having fun trying to decide what plants to use.Love the doggies.

Thanks bananna18. I think the first thing will be purple martin houses. We have tree swallows at the house. They really keep the mosquitos down. But the lane is crawling with them! Won't get any martins this years, but next year should be interesting.

Your wasp looks like a Cicada Killer

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

Coooool! We've seen quite a few Cicadas this year. Thanks for the info.
