Fastest growing hoya by far.

This is a NOID I clipped a cutting at some undisclosed botanical garden. I thought it was some sort of australis but now I'm not so sure. It grows way faster then any hoya I've had. A two node cutting taken 9 months ago is now a huge plant. No blooms yet. I'm even wondering if its even a hoya.

I would guess H. australis, too, Ric...They can be rampant growers...

Very cool ... and how awesome that it grew so much in only 9 months ... of course I think many things grow like weeds over in your area! Do you have that one planted in the ground or is container grown? Just look at that vine growing up through the other leaf!, very neat! Don't forget to post a photo when it blooms!

Carol.....wish my other autralis' grew that fast. Just another mystery, I'm sure I'll need your help when it blooms.

Lin....its in a small pot., good Idea to put it in the ground......on a fence! It would cover it fast.

When it goes...IT GOES.....People are claiming they are invasive closer to the ocean....

Very unlike our local australis rupicola, but I don't know what the other australis look like.

I agree, Lin, very cool.

My fastest growing hoya is H. buotii/halconensis, by far. Now I just wish the plant would bloom. There is one peduncle, but no buds, yet. (:o(

The more I look at those leaves on Ric's plant, I too think it is an australis. It looks like the Exotic Angel australis I bought from their website a month or so ago. This was a large plant when I received it but it just went bonkers this past month and has new vines shooting out all over. I can't wait to see some sign of peduncle's and buds on it. I have one australis I received in a trade that bloomed last fall with pretty white flowers and awesome fragrance, so I hope this one is just as nice.

Lin,

Ric, I think one of my australis bloomed late last fall also so hopefully I will see blooms again this year! The flowers were very pretty and the fragrance was really amazing, very sweet but not overpowering. Of course the plant was hanging out on the deck so if it was inside my small house it may very well be too strong.
