I don't have any more room here and you guys are stoking the addiction... Aren't EE's in zone 5 enough of a challenge?
*sigh*
Please stop with the Amorphs!
Uh, Oh, I guess iit's time for me to post a picture of my 7 foot tall Amorphophallus leaf . . .
Shucks, my titanum, paeoniifolius, bulbifer and symonianus are still only bulbs. Otherwise I could have posted some nice photos. :O)
I have joined the madness I'm afraid. Up to 2am reading about them. That picture from Kew gardens did it. LOL
I've potted up A. bulbifer and looking for others. I see big trouble in the yard space section and a further disaster in the finance department. LOL
Recommended reading for a newbie?
Been thinking about getting my first one for about a year now but have so far successfuloly resisted. Let's see the pic, LariAnn. At least these go dormant in winter, so I could stick them in the basement, maybe...
I'll get the shot as soon as the rain lets up; been dry here for more than a week and the day I spray in the AM, it rains! Barely got the front yard mowed before the rain started. I guess it is the same result I'd get if I had washed my car!
Always happens to me. They predict rain, so I don't water. It doesn't rain, so I have to water. Then it always rains. Nice to be able to control the weather that way...
Well, the rain finally stopped but it is now too dark for pics. Will have to try tomorrow after I get back from the office . . grrr!
Beautiful and impressive. I suppose its a good thing you don't grow any carnivorous plants!
Lariann, how high do those stand? I've got a few months yet before mine even come up.
Seray53, I joined the IAS this year in hopes of attending the banquet next month at Fairchild as well as attending the annual show and sale. They're having a rather notable speaker this year. Unfortunately, I have a 70 year old sister who has eye surgery scheduled for the 9th and I promised to come up and stay with her for a couple of weeks at least and won't be back in time for the big show and sale. I could cry!!!! Anyway, I'll be driving up to Alexandria, leaving here on the 4th of September and would be happy to bring you a couple of amorphaphalus bulbifurs, if you'd like. I used to stop overnight at the Holiday Inn at I75 in Richmond Hill whenever I made my trips up North, but have stayed in Savannah lately. Dmail me if you're interested in a couple of free amorphs!
Marianne
