Mark you calendars for September 19th, as part of the News Herald Fall Plant Exchange we’ll be looking for the best tasting tomato in the downriver area. The 1st annual Tomato Tasting Contest will be held. We’ve assembled an esteemed panel of judges and have some great prizes including Brunch and Dinner at the Fairlane Club.
Here are the rules for the contest:
Tomatoes must be grown by entrants in their home gardens.
Variety of tomato must be identified
Only 2 varieties per entrant please.
Tomatoes will be judged on texture and flavor.
This will be a blind taste test, entrants will not be revealed until judging is completed.
Please make sure that your tomatoes are washed, and labeled with your name and phone number.
Decisions of the judges will be final

Paul, I've been anxiously awaiting a report on the winners of the tomato tasting contest. Wish I coud have attended.
I have a couple really cute "boy" tomatoes that would have been good conversation pieces. :)
It was a blind taste test, a 4th grader won, a cherry tomato grown in a pot, too cool.
