We buy spelt berries, sprout them and then grind them for flour. It makes the best "feel good" bread that I've ever had. Seeing them sprout, though, makes them want to try growing some for myself. Is this something that I want to do in the fall? I've not tried growing any grains at all yet other than corn, but definitely plan to try millet and amaranth next summer. We've got plenty of room and as long as I've got the energy to amend the soil, I figure why not?
It doesn't help that we evaluate each night's meal based on the ingredients that we might have grown.
Has anyone tried growing spelt?
