Brug Trade for Figs? Anyone have figs to trade?

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

I am looking to grow figs here in NY. I was wondering if anyone has a nice rooted plant that I can plant in the ground this season. It needs to be hardy in zone 6 and produce some good sweet fruit :P

I'm sure I can find some brug to trade. :D

PM me if you have something to trade that you want to talk about.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

I have a nice fig tree that was given to me by a Croatian man a few years back. I have been able to root it for friends in the Fall and Spring. Let me know if you are interested. The fruit is delicious and sweet. It actually always gives me 2 crops, one small one early Summer and the HUGE on in the fall. I am in Nassau county, NY and I do not even cover the plant, most people do though, I am just LAZY!

Sealy, TX

I have a couple of huge fig trees that have "newbies" all the time that sometimes I cut down and sometimes I let grow to fill in the tree. I live in zone 8b and if you think you'd be interested, I'll be glad to start you 3 or 4 fig trees. I don't have any brugs and have wanted to try them for ages - I think they're so beautiful!

Hey thanks guys. I have had quite a response from my postings for figs on other sites that I need to cut back.
Deb while I appreciate the offer, I would hesitate to try a fig grown in texas as a zone 6 grower. I have a couple of offers of "tender" figs already and I may try one of those in florida. I hear that the Purple LSU is a candidate for my zone.
Clemen, in NY........ you have a Dmail!

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

Gary.. I can get you some of mothers figs.. she's running a bumper crop this year.. it's also a zone 7 fig.. and is never covered.. figs are a magnet though.. she's a wasp nest in hers.. and a resident possum during dropping season.. I believe both were dispatched with her trusty shovel.. hers are a 12 tall bush.. would you like some for a taste testing..
they are quite hardythere..except for late freezes.. which pay havoc with the blossoms..
