I saw this strangely colored bird in Central NJ, by the D&R Canal. Geese are common in this area, but this one has very unusual colors. Does anybody know what it is?
CLOSED: Does anybody know what kind of goose this is?
That's an "Egyptian Goose"...actually a Shelduck-not a goose. Closest place it occurs is Africa. This is an escapee-not a wanderer. Commonly kept here in zoos, barnyards etc.
(it's 3 o'clock in the morning in the UK...Resin is sleeping)
I have no idea where it might have escaped from, but I do believe you are correct. Thank you for the id!
