Ever have a snake in the house?

Chinook, WA

Hi--I'm a writer working on a story called "Snakes in the House" for a national magazine.

If you have a story about a snake on the loose in your house, I'd love to hear it!

Maybe it was a milk snake in the cellar when you were a kid, to keep the mice down. Maybe a black snake in the stove. Whatever your tale, if you'd be interested in sharing it, I'd love to hear it.

You'd be identified in the article by first and last name and location. There's no $ involved, and I can't guarantee that your story will make it through to the published article (the editors may leave it on the cutting room floor :-P).

Looking forward to hearing your sssssnake tale. Thanks!

Yes! I lived in Atlanta in the early 90's in a triplex. It was a beautiful area with lots of trees so I started feeding the birds. I had a platform feeder on the back deck with lots of activity. Once in a while a mouse or too would be seen out there. Well one nice day I opened the front and back doors for a nice breeze, after returning from outside I ran headlong into a snake!! Apparently he was no fool and decided the shortest distance from the front yard to the back was THROUGH the house!!! I was not amused. Called a friend who identified him as a small rat snake and removed him. I wore a sweatshirt and pants to bed that night for cover and shivered and shook alot! Bren

Yes. I was taking a bath and a snake's head peeked over the side of the tub at me. To this day, I can't tell you how I wound up in the living room. I called animal control and they sent someone out to get it. It was identified as a copperhead. :=( :=( :=(
