along house

Brooklyn Park, MN(Zone 4a)

hello i am trying to decide what to plant along my house.i have about a little over 3ft wide to work with.i am looking for something that gets tall,5ft or more.or would something like that not be good because of the roots and it being so close to the house.oh and the house has rock edging and this almost complete shade.

Try Goatsbeard or hydrangea.

The Northern Lights azalea series? If this space is under the overhang of the roof, you'll need supplemental watering since the rain wouldn't be able to reach that area.

maybe snakeroot pink spike

Had to look up 'Pink Spike' - beautiful! I may have to add that to my "want" list! I have just the species Cimicifuga with the white flower spikes. The plants do get big but should just fit in your 3 foot area but not with any room to spare.
