Took a walk on the University of Oklahoma campus this morning and found some Green Herons on the duck pond. Two juveniles and one adult. Got close enough to get some decent pics. Also some Great Egrets and Blue Herons.
Anyone got any shots of Green Herons? I find them extremely difficult to approach.
Green Herons
Red, I've yet spotted one here. Thus far I've only seen the Egrets, Blue Heron and the Blackcap Night Heron but not the Green. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
Great shots Red! I really love these birds, but they are hard to find. I've found that once we've located one, they're usually in the same area weeks later when we've returned.
Nice shots, Red. When I'm taking photos, I spend a lot time around or near water and occasionally encounter the 'Green Heron'. On Monday, I came across this 'Green Heron' as soon as I entered a wetland area. He stayed around for quite some time while I took a bunch of photos. They are a neat bird ....... and sometimes strange looking.
