that's exactly what I said, He really does look mean! He even runs the females off. We've actually forced them to take turns, ha, ha. We have to stand on the porch behind the feeder so that he will not come up to feed and give the others a chance to feed. The others are use to us and will feed with us standing right there, but he will not come around if we're there. Hey... does anyone know what kind of Hummingbird this is by the way?? I thought it was ruby-throated hummer, but their throats are red... and a black-chinned hummer has a black or purple throat?? Thanks for the compliments :)

It looks like a ruby throated to me. When the light isn't reflecting off their throats at the right angle it looks like a darker color almost black at times.
