I think this is something MollyMc gave me 3-4 years ago and don't even remember planting it.
What has this guy been doing for all these year and what is it?
Thanks.
Hap
Just came up
That is known as Xanthosoma jacquinii lineatum - here's a link (they have the specific name misspelled!):

Of course, to be accurate as possible, the name "jacquinii" is actually not a valid name, as this plant is considered to be a type of X. sagittifolium, according to info at the following link:

You're a doll as always.
Thanks LariAnn.

One more question, if I may LariAnn.
Is it normal for one to be dormant for a couple of years and then just say, 'Hello'?
Hap
Yes, that is quite normal for X. sagittifolium types. I've even had Alocasias pop up many years (over 8) from corms or bulblets after the mother plant was gone. So it does happen, and often.

When plants want to live, they really live. Of course, opposite is true too.
Thanks again.
Molly gave me this one also. I have it in shade and it is sporadic at best. Seems to die back in winter and come up again in spring but does not produce offsets for me.
Thanks, Hetty.
Just would like to know what it's been doing the last couple of years. LOL
I will move it more in the shade.
