Looks like Tillandsia cyanea, it is not to easy to get to re-flower. Give brigh light and water so the soil is not dry for long.

Cody, I have one of those too, now after blooming (pretty purple) the main stem or whatever it is called is drying up. Now I'm wondering if another will grow in its place.

Sorry Pegi,i do remember it having the purple flower on it.mine didn't make it.

I suspect like most Bromeliads, the plant dies after blooming.
One could hope it would deliver more plants before hand.

They are pretty plants.

Hi podster,i had like two of the big ones and that one in the picture. They are hard to keep alive.I also think that i was over watering them too.My friends on the Aussie forum, they can grow theirs big and beautiful. They post beautiful ones.Next summer i am going to try it again.

It is Tillandsia cyanea. The plant that bloomed will not bloom again but will send out pups that will bloom next year. Protect it from freezing, keep it in filtered light, and only water it when it is dry as its native habitat is in South American trees.

Hi Williamca, thanks, but that plant i had in the pics.It didn't make it.I have never seen pups on that type of Brom.I haven't had that plant since '09.Thanks!!
