Waiting for Blooms

Is this plant large enough to bloom? It is about 3ft tall. I got it from a lady but she didn't know the name. She said the blooms are dark red and smell like coppertone sunscreen. I am very anxious!

Yes that is definitely large enough to bloom.
Are you giving it as much sun as possible?

Full sun all day, but it was in a pot inside my screen room until last weekend so I think I am just way to anxious.

Inside the screen it is not getting enough of the full sunshine spectrum. Now that you have it in the ground in full sun it will be happier.

Yeah, I planted it last week in the ground, and gave it a little fertilizer and some Fish emulsion. I just keep checking impatiently for bud to start forming! If (when) it blooms, I will certainly post some pictures.

I would have left it in the pot so this winter you could pull it out and store it safe from the cold. We do get too cold here for this. They call it plunging it means put the whole pot in the ground and then pull it out fill in your hole so no one breaks a leg and do all over again come spring.
