I found the variety Red Filli at the local Lowe's. I'm waiting for it to go on clearance. In the meantime, I see that there are also varieties called Coral and Violet. Red Filli doesn't have the red of Cherry Dynamite, it's more of a watermelon red, but still, it's a crape myrtle hardy to zone 4a. :)

Real crape myrtles for the north. :)
JG, a few years ago I was driving along the north fork of Long Island, through miles and miles of wholesale growers/nurseries and all of a sudden I noticed one was growing Crape Myrtles. Many, many colors too. I would imagine they are in the same zone as you are.
Just remember, CM's are notiously slow to come out of dormancy in the spring. They might appear to be deceased when they are just poky.
