Thanks, Cat.. she is just beginning to enjoy butterflies.. And my mom too. I had to beat them over the head to quit using pesticides... LOL! They grew up having to make sure those vegetables came first.

Sounds like my relatives :o) Now they call me at all hours of the day (and night) when they see a butterfly or moth. It got to the point that I purchased eight copies of the Kaufman Focus Guide for Butterflies of North America and gave them out to friends and relatives. Now I narrow it down and once we pinpoint the butterfly - I tell them - YARD BUG! Call me when you see a Blue Morpho!!! :o)

My Dad is a mailman and he gives me reports on what butterflies he sees along his route. In fact, he saw Giant STs way before me this year. I told him he must have a citrus grove around somewhere. Also, his sister (my aunt) in WV is a bird watcher and got a new camera last year. Now that she knows I'm into butterflies she'll take pictures of them and send them to me. I got so jealous when she sent me one of a Red-Spotted Purple that was eating some rotting fruit.

It's good that we're helping to make others more aware of nature. I think it's way more interesting than TV!
