Does anyone have any idea of how to keep stray cats out of the yard when you have a great set-up for attracting birds...and the cats come in to kill them? This is for my sister in Illinois, who has been trapping the cats and taking them to the humane society, but they have neuter/spay and release program. ANY suggestions would be welcome. She has lots of songbirds and loves to watch them, but not watch the stray cats kill them! Thanks, ChuLin
Cats Killing Birds in the Yard
Maybe get a dog? That's all I could think of. But some dogs will chase a bird also.

Hi ChuLin, I haven't read any of this yet but here is a page with a few different products plus a link to home made ones.

Thanks for the website link, Pelletory, I sent it on to my sis. Bltefft, a dog is not in their future as neither wants one! ChuLin
I think the practice of trapping is probably the best tact. But, not all the cats stalking feeders are strays. Often they are neighbor's cats. Ending up in the pound is a good incentive for them to keep their cats inside. I have a neighbor's stalking my front feeder. I've run him off several times and have considered trapping him. Fortunately my Cockatiel has a good view of the front yard and when a cat appears she shrieks to high Heaven.
