Hi my friends,

Unfortunatly, none have flowered but I was hoping that all you experienced growers may know what "family" they come from????

I think the first two are some of the many variants of Neoregelia ampullacea. Since they stay compact and because of the long stolons, they look good in hanging baskets.
A wild guess at the third would be a Billbergia hybrid (there are very many).

With the proliferation of hybrids, it's next to impossible to id many of these plants. Just enjoy them!

Thanks Dave,

I know the first one had purple flowers at one time.

So, no-one ever seperates them into other pots??

Wouldn't they hang over the edge in hanging pots?????

Yes they hang over the edge and grow into a giant ball. It's purely a subjective choice whether to seperate them or not.

Dave.
